Service Announcement:

We wanted to share that we are excited to be opening our doors for physical gatherings again starting this Sunday, May 17th at 10:30 am. We will resume our regular meetings as well. (Sunday evening @ 6 pm, Tuesday recovery gathering @ 7 pm and Wednesday @ 7 pm)

Our leadership believes it is time to resume services. However, we understand everyone may be at different places on how they are responding to coming together physically. We want everyone to make what they believe to be the wisest decision for themselves and their families. Please know that whatever you decide, we completely understand and in no way want you to feel guilty or shamed for doing what you believe God is leading you to do.

We will be taking some precautions during our morning service to create a safe and comfortable environment for worship. We will not require masks to be worn, however, if you desire to wear a mask that is completely your choice and again we will in no way judge anyone making that choice.

We will be making some changes to our morning service as well.
1) Our offering will be taken by ushers standing at the doors when service is dismissed.
2) We will not have our normal “greet” time during the service. People are free to choose to fellowship before or after service as they feel comfortable.
3) We have gone above and beyond in keeping our facility cleaned and sanitized.
4) Our Connection Cafe will be open before service, however, we will not have food refreshments initially.

Also, since some have asked, we want to share that religious gatherings are and have been exempt in Michigan from any executive order issued. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Pastor John Chippewa at john@northgoodland.org.

We hope you can join us for worship this Sunday!

Service Announcement:

After meeting with our board last night we believe it is best to suspend all physical gatherings for ministry until April 6th. At that time the board and I will sit down and discuss our next steps. We will be posting messages on our app and website in video form around the same time services will be taking place. Wednesday around 7 pm and Sunday’s at 11 am and 6 pm.

We are trusting in the Lord for his wisdom and leadership as we desire to encourage others to find and follow Jesus. Thank you for your prayers for our leadership. I (pastor John) will still be in the office during the week if anyone needs to talk or stop by for prayer.

Make sure you stay connected through our website and app in the coming weeks. Also, it is important that we continue to support the ministry here financially as we still need to meet our financial obligations as well as supporting our missionaries around the world. You can do that online via the Give link at the top of this page or if you want to drop by your gift during the week between 9 am – 3 pm.

God bless and we are excited for how God is going to use this experience in our community for his glory and our blessing!

Hey NGBC family,

It has been a very interesting couple of days in our community. We have seen many share 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Obviously as followers of Christ we know that our confidence and security come from the reality of our relationship with Christ, and ultimately trusting in his sovereignty.

This means we strive to make decisions based in wisdom and not fear. This does not mean we do not take precautions, but means we use our best discernment in a situation, not to be overtaken with fear or panic, because ultimately God is in control.

I wanted to let you know that we at NGBC are taking those precautions to provide a safe and clean environment for worship. (Some of these precautions would be taken with any serious flu or sickness going around).

We are meeting tomorrow for normal services and are striving to be respectful of the guidelines set forth by the State of Michigan.

We will be making some changes taking everything into consideration. We were planning communion tomorrow, however that will be postponed to a future date. Other precautions will be:

1) We are going above and beyond to clean our children’s areas even more than normal.

2) We will not be taking time in our morning service to greet one another.

3) We have hand sanitizer available at the welcome center. Also, we will have our ushers at the doors at the end of service to collect offering, instead of handing plates person to person. You can also give online as normal through our app or website.

4) If you are uncomfortable attending services, we completely understand. We want to encourage you to make the best decision for you and your family with no fear of judgment or criticism.

I know that you (as you read this) may be looking at this situation with very different opinions on what is necessary or right. You may be thinking these precautions aren’t enough, or too much.

We understand where you are coming from as everyone is so different. We want to thank you in advance for your patience and grace as we desire to be as wise as possible while continuing to trust the Lord in all things.
